Get Involved

We need your help! We ask all our Make School students to meet with a mentor at least twice during the year. Below are opportunities, like 1:1 coffee meetings with professionals like you to give them insight into the industry, prep for interviews, do a code review or give an office tour, etc. We welcome offers for one-time mentorship and recurring mentorship alike.

Technical

Code Review

Starting mid-February until April, our students will be building group projects using Ruby on Rails. We’re looking for expert RoR engineers to review their code and provide detailed feedback. This can be done in the office or remotely.

Design

We do not currently have an instructor dedicated to teaching design and our students are thirsty to learn more about this important discipline.

Mock Interview

All of our students are searching for technical internships starting this June. We’re looking for technical professionals to conduct whiteboard mock interviews testing them on their knowledge of computer science fundamentals.

Quality Assurance

Do you like to break code? Come break our students projects and teach them valuable lessons about testing and refactoring their code.

Tech Talk

Do you have expert knowledge on a technology not covered in our curriculum? We’d love for you to teach it to our students! This can be a one-off lecture or a series of lectures.

+

Non-Technical

Office Hours

Perfect for founders, executives, VC’s, and other experts in their fields, this is an opportunity for our students to sit down with you one-on-one to ask for advice.

General Mentorship

Not sure of anything specific, but still want to help our students out? We’d love to have you visit whenever you’re available. Our students are not shy and love to have industry professionals in the building to learn from.
