Welcome Asylees, DACA recipients, and Undocumented Persons!

Make School remains committed to a mission of changing Tech for the better through a revolutionary hands-on curriculum, accelerated pace, and an emphasis on supporting diversity and inclusion both in our program and in Tech.

As an Asylee, DACA Recipient, or Undocumented persons, you will follow the same process for applications as our First Year and Transfer Applicants. Please use the links to review what is required of you. If you are an Asylee applicant who has not yet been approved for Asylum, you will need to apply as an International F-1 Visa applicant. Please refer to our International Admissions webpage to see what is required for you.

All International Transcripts and Test scores must be assessed using a NACES approved credential evaluation. You must use a NACES approved evaluator that meets our Course by Course analysis standard. If you choose to use SpanTran, you must select a Divisional Course analysis standard. These documents range from $85.00 - $600.00 depending on which organization you select, and how quickly you request a document be reviewed. If you are unsure if an organization meets our requirements, email prior to ordering the document to avoid paying twice for a document.

DACA recipients and approved asylees will need to scan and upload their documents confirming their status directly to their portal, or email them to Undocumented students will need to list Undocumented under their citizenship status. You can also email to discuss your status there if you feel more comfortable.

Make School does not have separate First Year and Transfer deadlines. All deadlines reflected are for both.

Final International Application Deadline
We will no longer accept new international applications after this date. The earlier deadline for international applications reflects the extra time it takes to receive an international admissions decision and Visa appointment wait times. The Admissions staff strongly suggest that international applicants apply as early as possible to prevent delays.

May 1, 2021

Google CSSI: Extension Deadline
Students must apply by this deadline to be considered eligible for the Google CSSI: Extension program at Make School.

June 29, 2021

Final Application Deadline
We will no longer accept any new applications after this date. The Admissions staff strongly suggest that all applicants apply as early as possible to prevent delays.
* Make School admissions does not have Early Decision or Early Action deadlines with any restrictions. All applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for the best experience and for earlier access to applicant- and admit-only community events. ** Deadlines are for submitting the initial application. Additional steps and documents are required after submitting the application before applicants are eligible for an admissions decision.

In addition to the requirements on the first-year and transfer applicant pages, undocumented applicants may be required to submit the following supplemental information.


How to submit

Demonstrate English Proficiency
Undocumented applicants from countries where English is not an official language must demonstrate English proficiency.
Proficiency can be demonstrated with one of the following:
  • An official transcript demonstrating that the applicant completed one academic year in the U.S. school system. An official transcript demonstrating that the applicant completed one academic year in the U.S. school system.
  • SAT: 1140 Combined Math and Evidence-Based Reading (minimum Reading score of 25) and Writing (M + ERW).
  • ACT: 20 Composite
  • TOEFL Score: 550 Paper, 213 Computer, or 80 IBT. Learn about TOEFL
  • IELTS Score: 6.5. Learn about IELTS
  • PTEA Score: 53. Learn about PTEA
  • Completed Level 112 Intensive Program English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at an ELS Language Center.
  • Successful completion of 24 transferable semester units or 36 transferable quarter units at an English-speaking institution.

Credential evaluation of official high school, college and university transcripts
Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be verified and evaluated for academic degree equivalence.
All candidates are required to use SpanTran for credential evaluations and must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation. The evaluation can also fulfill the official transcript requirement, as long as the evaluation is delivered to the Office of Admissions directly from SpanTran and includes a copy of the official transcripts that were evaluated.
